The Loring showing area is underlain by Lower Jurassic Hazelton Group volcanics of the Telkwa Formation comprised of variegated red, maroon, green to grey andesitic to rhyolitic flows, tuffs, and breccia with minor intercalated sediments. The volcanics are intruded by an Upper Cretaceous to Eocene intrusions comprised of granodiorite and quartz monzonite with dikes of granodiorite, felsite and rhyolitic quartz porphyry.

Alteration and mineralization associated with a quartz feldspar porphyry stock is related to a hornfelsed zone hosting pyrite and magnetite and with porphyritic stages within the stock hosting alteration related to fracture controlled stockworks bearing pyrite, minor chalcopyrite and trace molybdenite.

Locally, the flat lying volcanics contain disseminated chalcopyrite over widths of 1.2 to 3.0 metres. A sample over 1.8 metres on the Stirling claim assayed trace gold, 41.1 grams per tonne silver, and 1.0 per cent copper. A sample across 1.2 metres on the Adelaide claim assayed trace gold, 30.9 grams per tonne silver, and 1.8 per cent copper (Minister of Mines Annual Report 1914, page K224).

In 1968 and 1970 disseminated chalcopyrite with molybdenite in a quartz stockwork was mapped along fractures in the flat lying volcanics near granodiorite and feldspar porphyry dikes (refer to Lava, 093L 037).

The main showing, on Hankin 23-24, is called the Slump Block and is comprised of a roughly rectangular mass of gently dipping volcanics approximately 60 metres wide and 150 metres long. A major amygdaloidal rhyolite dike cuts the Hazelton volcanics and forms a gossanous zone 100 metres east of the Slump Block which contains epidote, limonite, pyrite, magnetite with minor chalcopyrite and malachite. In 1974 drilling indicated 0.3 per cent copper is associated with this zone (Assessment Report 10043, page 7).

The Old Tom-Hankin-Lava-Loring showings form a continuous zone that can be traced

for at least 5 kilometres along the cliffs along Loring Creek. The cliffs are riddled with gopher holes (small adits) with prominent malachite stained bedded tuffs visible from the air. At least one of the showings at Crater Lake also shows a stratiform character, suggesting that stratiform type mineralization continues for 5 kilometres along strike and 2 kilometres down dip. At the Loring showing in 2009 several copper bearing horizons were sampled returning 1.45 per cent copper, 0.185 gram per tonne gold and 54.3 grams per tonne silver over 2 metres which is fairly flat.

WORK HISTORY

The Loring 1 and 2 claims were staked in 1995 and a program was conducted by Hera Resources which resulted in the collection of 55 rock, chip and silt samples (Assessment Reports 24760). In 1996, Hera followed up with a program that resulted in the collection of 128 rock samples that were in the plotted vicinities of the Old Tom (093L 034), Hankin (093L 035), Loring (093L 036), Lava (093L 037).

The 2008 on the El Toro property of Lions Gate Energy Inc, a program of mapping, prospecting, 87 rock and 15 soil geochemical samples, GPS surveying of previous diamond drill hole collars, and underground and surface workings, an evaluation of the property (Assessment Report 30731), followed by a 1495 line kilometre airborne magnetic and electromagnetic geophysical survey which covered the following Loring Creek area showings: Lava (093L 037), Loring (093L 034), Old Tom (093L 039) and Hankin (093L 035) as well as the Crater Lake (093L 034) and Marmot (093L 038) showings (Assessment Report 30982). The Lava, Loring, Crater Lake, Marmot and Hope (093L 033) showings were not investigated in 2008. The Old Tom and Hankin showings were visited and described as forming a continuous zone that can be traced for at least 2.2 kilometres along the cliffs on the east side of Loring Creek. Some sampling was completed there.

In 2009, Lions Gate conducted a program that involved mapping, rock (37) and soil (568) geochemical sampling, and additional GPS surveying of previous diamond drill hole collars and old workings, concentrated on Hunter’s Basin, Hankin Basin (Loring Creek), the Loljuh and MSJ stocks, Wolverine showing and Starr Creek, and an MMI soil geochemical survey over the MSJ porphyry copper-molybdenum-gold target (Assessment Report 31515). In 2009, the Lava (093L 037), Loring (093L 034), Crater Lake (093L 034) and Marmot (093L 038) showings were investigated in 2009 with sampling completed. The Hope showing was not investigated.

Refer also to King (093L 041) for general information on the El Toro property, a large property that was worked from 2007 to 2015) and contained the Hankin basin (Loring Creek area) as well as other basin areas.
